Sri Lanka has recorded a marginal decrease in workers’ remittances in September 2023 compared to August 2023.
According to official figures, workers’ remittances recorded in September were at USD 482.4 million, as opposed to August 2023 during which the inflows reached USD 499.2 million.
However, the cumulative figure for January-September 2023 has improved and was at USD 4,345.1 million. This is an increase of 68.8% compared to the corresponding period in 2022.
