The Government has decided not to lift the curfew for Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara and Puttalam on Wednesday (22).
Instead, the President’s Media Division said that the curfew will continue in these areas till 5 am on 27 April.
No one is permitted to enter or exit the districts of Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara and Puttalam. Regulations previously announced with regard to essential services and agriculture will prevail unchanged.
In the remaining 21 districts, curfew imposed (excluding some police areas), will be lifted daily, between 5am and 8pm, until Friday.
The PMD noted that island-wide curfew will be in place between 8pm on Friday, the 24th of April and 5am on Monday, the 27th of April.
Accordingly, the country will be under lockdown during the weekend due to the threat of COVID-19.
