According to the contract signed with him, in the event his contract is terminated early, SLC would have to pay him Rs. 60 million in compensation.
During the recent Bangladesh and New Zealand tours, Rumesh Ratnayake had served as the SL team coach in place of Hathurusinghe.
Meanwhile, there is also a plan to appoint Hathurusinghe as the Under 19 or under 15 coach in the event he refuses to resign.
Currently, Hathurusinghe is being paid US$ 40,000 monthly even though he is not performing any duty.
