15 individuals who made FB comments on OIC accident summoned

The Police say 15 persons will be summoned to the court and examine on social media comments they have published on the death of Inspector Ananda Sagara Sarachchandra (51), who happened to be the traffic OIC of the Borella Police.

The reason for the summon is as those individuals have made comments on FB that that the driver of the Defender that killed the OIC is not the person who is in custody and the person who drove the vehicle at the time of the incident is different.


However, the police investigations have revealed that the son of a VIP security officer, Nivindu Omesh Ratnayake who is currently in remand custody had driven the vehicle at the time of the accident.

The CID obtained evidence from 5 places using the CCTV footages during the investigations get confirmed the suspects.

On the 24th of February, the Defender had engaged in a hit and run incident at the Dupli- Bullers junction of Galle Road, Bambalapitiya resulting death of the traffic OIC of the Borella police station. In consequent to police investigations the Defender was found parked in a house at Pagoda Gardens, Pelawatta, in Battaramulla.
