The NFF leader went onto say the IGP and a DIG involved in the conspiracy with the underworld were yet to be arrested despite the revelation by police informant Namal Kumara.
This Indian national had gone to the office of Weerawansa once and to his home twice to meet him, but without success, according to him.
Weerawansas said that thereafter, he made inquiries and found him to be a RAW informant, and that the name he has given to Sri Lankan authorities was different to the name used in the Indian intelligence service.
He had arrived in Sri Lanka before the 2015 presidential election, seeking political asylum, but has been living here since with the money given by RAW.
Weerawansa also charged that RAW has become deeply rooted in Sri Lanka, even providing arms training for Jaffna’s Ava group in India.
