Kumar Sangakkara is one of four nominations for the Natwest PCA Players' Player of the Year award, after retiring from first-class cricket.
The 39-year-old former Sri Lanka captain made 35 not out in his final innings for Surrey against Lancashire on Wednesday.
Sangakkara ended his first-class career with 20,911 runs, 1,500 of
which came this in this season's County Championship at an average of 106.50.
Nottinghamshire's Samit Patel, who was tipped for a recall to the England squad ahead of the Ashes squad announcement, is also up for the award, alongside Jamie Porter (Essex) and Colin Ingram (Glamorgan).
Porter is also nominated for the Young Player of the Year award, which sees him up against Somerset seamer Craig Overton - who was named in the 16-man Ashes squad, having not yet earned an England cap.
Sussex's Jofra Archer, 22, and Yorkshire's Ben Coad, 23, also received nominations for the Young Player award.
Alex Hartley has been nominated for the Women's Player of the Summer shortlist, a day after her call up to the Ashes squad.
England's World Cup winners Tammy Beaumont and Natalie Sciver are also up for the award.
