Rosie to contest for Colombo MC!

Rosie Senanayake, deputy chief of staff of the prime minister, says she will contest at the next elections for the Colombo municipal council.

She was giving an interview to a weekend newspaper.

Senanayake said she would respect a party policy that prevented her
from being named on the national list, but said she was disappointed that some who were defeated at elections were made appointed MPs.

She went onto say she did not accept the position of high commissioner to Britain, as she first had to fulfill the promises she had given to the people.

Commenting on the few films that featured her, Senanayake said she was not a professional actress, but accepted those roles due to her liking and love for cinema.

She said she was not a talented actress, but that she was fortunate enough to act alongside the iconic figures such as Gamini Fonseka, Vijaya Kumaratunga, Ravindra Randeniya, Jeevan Kumaratunga and Sriyani Amarasena.
