Ravi’s bond deal, a ‘bulb of onion’ - Rajitha

Minister Rajitha Senaratne describes the matter involving his cabinet colleague Ravi Karunanayake as a ‘bulb of onion’, and says there are worse thieves in the joint opposition who level accusations against Karunanayake.

He made the comment to the media after a function at Silavatura
regional hospital in Mannar yesterday (07).

A shame

Senaratne said the JO leaders who level accusations against Karunanayake face multiple accusations of financial crime, corruption, fraud, murders etc.

He said the public should know the amounts of money in the Dubai banks accounts of leaders of the JO, saying that one account had one billion US dollars, while an account of a secretary has 1,800 billion USD.

An MP has 500 billion USD in his account, he said.

Govt. will take a decision regarding Ravi

Meanwhile, minister Lakshman Kiriella says the government will take a decision regarding Karunanayake.

He said during a visit to observe the construction of the Colombo-Kandy expressway at Mirigama last day (06) that there would be no personal opinions in politics.

Politics needs collective decisions only, and a decision will be taken at the party meeting the day after tomorrow.

Kiriella also said the no-confidence motion against Karunanayake would be raised at the party leaders meeting.
