The Council of Ministers has approved the publication of the Appropriation Bill for the year 2023 in the Government Gazette and then submitting it to the Parliament.
The proposal presented by the President as the Minister of Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policy was thus approved by the Council of Ministers.
The Appropriation Bill for the fiscal year 2023 was approved in the last 22nd Cabinet meeting for drafting.
Accordingly, the Cabinet considered the Appropriation Bill for the year 2023 prepared including the draft budget estimates for each budget head.
The total recurrent expenditure for the year 2023 is estimated at Rs. 4,634 billion and the total capital expenditure at Rs. 3,245 billion.
