Airheads appointed to National Council: Dayasiri

Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) General Secretary Dayasiri Jayasekara said the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) has appointed airheads with no knowledge to the National Council.

Speaking at a meeting of SLFP activists held the day before yesterday (01) in Kegalle, he also said:
"Now there are no queues for fuel because of the QR system. But what is happening now? Recently imported crude oil is inferior. Diesel and kerosene are mixed with this inferior crude oil and sent to power plants. There is plenty of good quality crude oil in the world market. Instead of importing quality crude oil, inferior oil is being imported via companies owned by the relatives of the authorities. What else is there to rob from this bankrupt country?

"Look at those who were appointed to the National Council in Parliament. A National Council is a place where decisions are made about the future of the country. Educated, intelligent and learned people should be appointed to it. Don't they have such people in Podujana Peramuna? A few airheads have been appointed instead, so they can be controlled from the remote via the US.

"There are also 30 cabinet ministers and 40 state ministers. At least Rs.2.5 million will be spent per month for one minister''
