A delegation of US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo arrived in Sri Lanka yesterday (Oct 23) to make arrangements for his visit.
The US Embassy says all arrangements for the visit were made in close coordination with the Sri Lankan government.
US Assistant Secretary of State Dean Thompson has told foreign media that he is trying to persuade Sri Lanka to decide on whom to move forward with.
He said that even though it was difficult to decide with whom to join hands in economic relations, Sri Lanka must make a choice.
Dean Thompson called on Sri Lanka to consider transparent and sustainable economic development alternatives offered by him, which are in stark contrast to those put forward by other parties.
