No restrictions for A/L examinees despite WP curfew

The Department of Examinations says the conduct of the GCE Advanced Level examination will not be affected due to the decision to impose curfew in the Western Province during this weekend.

Issuing a special statement, Examinations Commissioner General Sanath Pujitha said the Department has taken all measures to ensure the safety of the students who are sitting the Advanced Level examination this year.

He said although curfew will be imposed to the entire Western Province for three days from Friday, students and the staff involved in the A/L examination process will be able to travel to examination centres without any restrictions.

He said special Sri Lanka Transport Board buses and trains will be deployed to transport students and staff to examinations centres.
