It is said that a UNP group has held a special discussion with Ranil Wickremesinghe this morning (08 August) and Ranil Wickremesinghe has focused his attention on handing over the leadership of the UNP to Ruwan Wijewardena.
The sources further said that Wickremasinghe is scheduled to hold further discussions on Monday and Tuesday and announce his final decision in this regard on Wednesday.
Meanwhile,it has not been confirmed who will be appointed for the UNP National List seat and it is reported that two powerful former ministers are pressuring the UNP leader to give them the seat.
