MPs who own the most number of milch cows

The MPs who own the best milch cows was revealed in parliament today during the debate on imported milch cows.

“When these cows were purchased they claimed these animals would yield 25-30 litres of milk, but in turned out that they did not yield even as much as the local cows. There has been a massive fraud here,” said UPFA-MP Dayasiri Jayasekara.
In response, Agriculture Minister P. Harrison said, “These milch cows have been imported since 2014. However, if we were to cancel this agreement made back then, we would be losing heavily. There had not been proper research done prior to importing these cows.”

Jayasekara said he was not trying to cover up for anyone, but what this government has done is totally inadequate.

Joining the debate on milch cows, JVP-MP Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa questioned as to how the milch cows obtained by then Ministers Vijith Vijayamuni Zoysa and Lakshman Wasantha Perera under this agreement were found to have no problems while the milch cows obtained by ordinary people give low yield.

He also pointed out that some of those imported milch cows had been infected by Bovine Viral Disease and Fasciola Hepaticaa parasitic trematode.
