The President is said to have agreed to give the Premiership to the
party holding the majority in parliament after the verdict of the appeal petition filed by Mahinda Rajapaksa and the ‘Cabinet’.
According to informed sources, it is most likely that Ranil Wickremesinghe will take oaths as the Prime Minister before President Sirisena tomorrow (15).
Prior to yesterday’s court verdict, President Sirisena is said to have told his media unit that he would resolve this political crisis within 24 hours after the Supreme Court verdict is delivered.
