Wigneswaran claims he has four alternatives

Since there is uncertainty of his contesting the upcoming Provincial Council election as a candidate of the National Coalition, he holds four other alternatives, said Northern Chief Minister C.V. Wigneswaran.

He said the Tamil National Alliance is not very happy with his
statements and he would discuss these four alternatives during the meetings with them.

He said he has the option of getting out of politics, forming a new party, joining with another party or engaging in politics with a people’s movement which is not a political party, but so far he has not decided definitely yet.

EPRLF stand:

Meanwhile, the EPRLF Central Committee member and Politburo member Suresh Premachandran said the people of the North had lost faith in the Tamil National Alliance and in the future if Wigneswaran makes a concerted commitment to serve the people without joining the TNA, his party would give their fullest support to him at the next election.
