Complaints against top police officials go missing

Complaints made to parliament against certain top police officials have gone missing, police department sources say.

One of the complaints is by DIG Priyantha Weerasuriya, seeking an
investigation into the educational qualifications of the TID’s DIG Nalaka Silva.

Weerasuriya himself is accused over his remaining as the director of supplies for six years, according to complaints received by the IGP and the police commission.

However, Neth News has reported that he has asked the police commission for a transfer, and also complained that certain disgruntled persons were petitioning against him.

He is worried by the police department having initiated an investigation, based on these petitions.
