Gotabhaya Rajapaksa is under investigations for misappropriating state funds to build a memorial for his parents.
A sum of Rs. 91 million obtained for the ‘Weeraketiya Project’ of
the Land Reclamation and Development Authority had been used to build the memorial for his parents.
News of his impending arrest began to circulate this week but according to reports his arrest was blocked by President Maithripala Sirisena.
