The Police said the victim was among a group of ten Indian athletes who were in Sri Lanka to attend the Inter Mercantile Athletics Championships.
Some of the touring athletes had gone to buy tea packs from a shop
at Bambalapitiya when the victim had got off their bus to take photographs.
The Police said they suspected that a train had hit the victim when he attempted to take a photograph. (Darshana Sanjeewa)
