Match-fixing began by Arjuna, Aravinda?

Sri Lanka Cricket is going to appoint a committee to inquire into match-fixing allegations.

This committee will be looking into the first reported instance of match-fixing, in 1994.

There are allegations that a Test match against India played at
Lucknow in that year was fixed for 15,000 dollars, and India’s CBI has conducted an investigation into that.

Former cricketers Arjuna Ranatunga and Aravinda de Silva are implicated in that match-fixing incident.

The SLC tasked a committee comprising Desmond de Silva with inquiring into the allegation, but it was abandoned, purportedly due to an absence of adequate evidence.

Other members of the team charged that Ranatunga did not make an effort to win the exhibition games played with India.
