‘Fonseka is responsible for war crime accusations’

If anyone is to be held responsible for these accusations, it is Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka, who was the commander of the Army at
the time, says Jayasuriya, who was also former ambassador to Brazil.

Several foreign human rights groups have accused him having ordered attacks on hospitals and torturing and killing civilians.

The accusations came a few days after he returned home after conclude the term of his ambassadorial position.
