group at the Presidential Secretariat today (19).

In conclusion, the president had stated that the present government would continue for several more months and those who are in favour of this can remain while the others were free to leave.

Speaking during the meeting, SLFP General Secretary - minister Duminda Dissanayake had stated that a government change at this juncture would mean a victory for the Mahinda Rajapaksa-led Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP).

Noting that this would propel the SLPP to further popularity, minister Dissanayake added that if a government change bringing victory to the president is in the offing during any other time, he would back the move before all others.
