The allowance is wholly inadequate to serve the daily requirements
of the children who undergo residential education.
The present government raised the allowance to Rs. 70, which previously was only Rs. 50 a day.
Parents seek an immediate increase in the allowance as the children’s expenses increase by the day.
They also want tax concessions given for the children’s hearing equipment.
