Ranil asked to appoint Tamil organizer for Digamadulla!

The majority Tamils in Kalmunai, Samanthurai and Potuvil are rendered helpless due to the allocation of UNP’s Digamadulla organizer positions among Sinhala and Muslim leaders only, eastern provincial councilor Manjula Fernando has written to prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.

As a result, benefits of the development and other projects launched
by the UNP at the grassroots level do not reach the those electorates, he points out in the letter he has referred to the party leader through speaker Karu Jayasuriya.

Fernando is seeking a new organizer for Tamil areas of the district.

Tamil people’s representatives from the east are in the opposition in parliament, and Tamil leaders who are running the eastern provincial council cannot fulfill any aspiration of their community, he notes.

It is unavoidable that the Tamils come to hate the government when they see only the Sinhala and Muslim villages in the district gain development and job opportunities, he also says.
