Pitch-preparations linked to match-fixing?

Bowler Lasith Malinga blames disregard for the team when preparing pitches and a head coach without standards for the present debacle in Sri Lanka’s cricket.

He made the allegation during a cricket workshop at Water’s Edge in Battaramulla recently.

According to him, cutting grass in the pitch during the several
recent series was not up to the team’s requirements.

When asked for the reason, the lame excuse is that they got the blade wrong, he said, adding that if that was the case, such a person was not fit to be the curator.

Malinga’s allegation gives rise to further suspicion of match-fixing.

Godfrey Dabarera is the Sri Lanka Cricket’s chief curator.
