Conference convened to resurrect cricket!

The Sports Ministry has appealed to all cricket professionals, intellectuals and even cricket fans to forward their suggestions and recommendations in writing , to the special conference to be convened to analyze the reasons for the losing streak of the Lankan
team and to  resurrect the game of cricket from the current state it is in.

These suggestions could be forwarded to the Chairman of the National Sports Council, Sports Ministry, No. 09, Phillip Gunawardena Mawatha, Colombo 07 or emailed to slcricket.workshop@gmail.com, the ministry said.

The Sports Ministry has organized workshop  to look into the reasons for the defeat of the Sri Lankan team and discuss the solutions.

The workshop will be conducted by the Chairman of the National Sports Council Milton Amarasinghe, Professor Colombo University Ranjith Bandara, Director General of the Sports Development Department Saman Bandara, Director General of the Sports Medicine Institute Dr. Lakshman Edirisinghe.

According to the Sports Ministry, former SL Cricket Presidents, former Interim Committee Chairmen and Secretaries, former Captains, Senior Journalists, current and former Chairmen of the Cricket Selection Committee, National Coaches, professionals with international experience and regional cricket association heads are expected to participate in this workshop.

This workshop is scheduled to take place on September 15 from 9.00 AM to 4.00 PM at Water’s Edge in Battaramulla.
