The SLFP has found its Puttalam district MP Sanath Nishantha guilty in a disciplinary inquiry.
He was accused of having criticized the party leadership and of having promoted another party.
The disciplinary committee headed by lawyer Champani
Padmasekara has handed over its report to party general secretary Duminda Dissanayake.
The SLFP executive committee will take a final decision at its next meeting regarding Nishantha.
According to the 19th amendment to the constitution, a MP cannot remain in his seat if he is removed from his party.
