Police said that the incident had occurred at around 8.00am this
morning (6) and that the injured have been admitted to Puttalam, Chilaw and Mundalama hospitals.
The bus, traveling from Colombo to Jaffna, had attempted to overtake a three-wheeler near the 10th Mile Post in Madurankuliya when it had collided with the railing of the bridge and toppled.
The accident had also resulted in heavy traffic congestion on the Colombo – Puttalam road, reporter said.
