Defence authorities say the agitation is being planned by former Sri
Lanka Cricket secretary Nishantha Ranatunga, Kushil Gunasekara and two former media managers of Sri Lanka Cricket.
A person from India who claims to be a journalist is also supporting the protest, but authorities are still unable to establish his intentions.
He is reportedly staying at a lodge at Mirissa owned by a key organizer of the protest.
Critics say that despite the serious setback in the game locally, that should not be a reason for persons with petty objectives to gain power of SLC through an interim committee.
Previously, under Arjuna Ranatunga, Sri Lanka suffered a three-nil Test whitewash in the hands of India.
